About Clurio

The honest handbook for adult life in Europe.

Moving to a new country — or just growing up — comes with a long list of things nobody sat you down to explain. How do you rent a flat without getting scammed? What does your employment contract actually mean? How does the healthcare system work, and what happens if something goes wrong? Where do you even start with taxes?

Clurio exists to answer those questions clearly, honestly, and without making you feel like you should already know the answer.

We write practical guides on housing, work, money, healthcare, and bureaucracy — currently for Hungary, Germany, and the Netherlands. Every guide is written in plain language, structured so you can find what you need quickly, and kept up to date as rules and systems change.

What we cover

  • Housing — renting, deposits, tenant rights, utilities, and what to check before you sign a lease.
  • Work — employment contracts, payslips, tax cards, social insurance, sick leave, and finding a job as a foreigner.
  • Money — opening a bank account, understanding your taxes, filing returns, and making sense of local financial systems.
  • Healthcare — registering with a doctor, health insurance, emergency care, and getting prescriptions filled.
  • Bureaucracy — residence registration, visas, ID documents, and the official steps that unlock everything else.

Who we are

Clurio is built by Virdana, a small software studio focused on tools that make everyday life easier. We built Clurio because we experienced firsthand how difficult it is to find clear, reliable information when you're navigating an unfamiliar system in a country that isn't your own.

Our guides are free to read. We are supported by advertising. We do not sell your data or require sign-up to browse — an account is optional and only needed to save guides and track your progress.

A note on accuracy

We work hard to keep our guides accurate and up to date. However, rules change, situations vary, and Clurio is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or medical advice. Always check with official sources and qualified professionals before making important decisions. Each guide links to the official sources we used — we encourage you to read those too.
